Golden Corral gathering on 12 Feb 2011.This was not a meeting but to see if the interest was still there to continue the club and support the repeaters. In attendance were approximately 15 ham operators from Stafford, Spotsylvania, Louisa and Fredericksburg.
The informal meeting was brought to order at approximately 8:30am By Michael Lussier K4MQF. Opening statements were made and then handed to Mike Christie W1ZFB for a status of the repeaters.
It was noted that the 775 repeater had gone down in the past few days and that a team of folks were going out to work on it after this meeting.
Discussion about the King George repeater was brought up by David Collins N4WDC and Tom Harmon AK1E. There is a club in King George and they wanted to change the call on the repeater and move the repeater under their club. This matter had to go back to Mac and Carol McGlade as they are the owners / trustees of that repeater. Should they decide to do that Then the SARG call K4SPT would be removed.
Discussion of King George packet radio was brought up. This packet resides on 145.730 and is currently used by several folks in the region. They changed the frequency without informing anyone in the past and caused all kinds of problems for other folks. A set of cans and a second radio on 145.550 would be acceptable. 145.730 would stay on the air at that location.
A formal meeting will be planned in the next several weeks.
